A game consists of 32 cards. When you sit down at a belote table, you're dealt five cards that will make up your deck.
To judge the power of your deck, it's essential to know the value of the cards, as detailed in the following table.
Once your cards are in your hand, another card is turned over in the center of the table. Suppose a queen of hearts is turned over. Each player then has the option of "taking hearts". If a player decides to take this card, hearts becomes the trump suit.
If you don't have enough strong cards (Jack, Nine, Ace and Ten), you can pass. Take a look at the following page to help you assess your belote game. If the other players also pass, you can choose one of the other three suits, depending on the quality of your game. If all players pass, this round is marked with 0 points and play continues with the next round. Once the color has been determined, your deck is complete. You'll then have 8 cards in hand to start the game.

Counting the points in belote at the end of a round
The aim of belote is to score more points than your opponent. A round of belote consists of 162 points, to which you can add the belote (20 points) or the announcements (from 20 to 200 points). Once the round is over, a window will open with a reminder of your contract, the number of points obtained thanks to your tricks, any announcements and the total points for the game. The score for this round is added to the previous rounds to give the total points.
Counting the points in belote at the end of a game
Once the game is over, a window opens with the scoreboard. The points from each round are added together to give a total score, as well as those of your opponent. The player with the most points wins the game and the stake.
Advanced strategy: Exploring new horizons!
For Belote masters, Ludicash has developed a system that lets you revisit your previous Belote games, including your own cards and those of your opponents. This gives you the opportunity to analyze the course of the game and the hands that were played. This is an invaluable tool for belote connoisseurs, not only to decipher their opponents' strategy, but also to continually refine their own playing tactics.
Post-game analysis also gives you a better understanding of your teammate's signals. We invite you to consult our recommendations on the best methods for interpreting belote calls.

FAQ
What are the current rules?
Belote is usually played to 500 or 1,000 points, with several rounds. Each round normally counts 162 points, and pits takers against defenders. The taking team must reach 82 points to avoid falling. See the rules of belote.
How to play belote for free?

What is the order of the cards?
For each suit, Spades, Hearts, Diamonds and Clubs, the order of the cards is the same.
In trump, however, the order and value of certain cards change. The strongest card is no longer the Ace, but the Jack and the Nine.
No asset
The cards are ranked from highest to lowest:
Aces: 11 points,
10 : 10 points,
King: 4 points,
Queen: 3 points,
Jack: 2 points,
9.8 and 7: 0 point
Atout
Trump, from strongest to weakest is :
Jack: 20 points,
9 : 14 points,
Aces: 11 points,
10 : 10 points,
King: 4 points,
Queen: 3 points,
8 and 7: 0 point
Which card is the strongest in belote?
It depends on the situation. In belote, in a normal game, the strongest card is the Jack of Trumps, but if you play in No Trumps mode, the 4 Aces will have an equivalent value because there will be no trumps.
Conversely, if you play in All-At-A-Glance mode, all 4 Jacks will have the same value, and the card played first will determine the suit requested. If, for example, a 7 of Hearts is played first, the highest card of Hearts wins the trick.
What do we mean by "Defausser" and "Pisser"?
In belote, you must always follow the color played at the start (by the first player). But if you don't have that color, you have several options.
If you don't have the requested suit and your partner is master, you can play the card of your choice, i.e. discard.
If you don't have the requested suit, your opponent cuts and you have an inferior trump, you still have to play it.
Which way is belote played?
In belote, the direction of play is "counter-clockwise". Some players may play clockwise, which won't affect the flow of a game very much, but the official rules of belote clearly state that the correct direction is counter-clockwise.
Who distributes at the belote?
The cards are dealt by each player in turn. At the start of the game, a draw determines the first player to deal. Once this draw has been made, the game continues round after round, and the player who deals is the next to go counter-clockwise.
How are cards dealt in belote?
Two rules must be observed during the deal: you may not deal more than 3 cards or less than 2 cards at a time. You are free to deal 3 then 2, or 2 then 3. As soon as a player draws a discard, you must deal 2 cards to him/her and 3 cards to the other players.
